CSG WIN VOSA CONTRACT

CSG WIN VOSA CONTRACT

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) has awarded a four year liquid waste management contract to Hampshire-based Cleansing Service Group.

The contract covers the emptying and cleansing of drainage systems, cesspools and septic tanks at 89 test stations and 64 weighbridge sites throughout mainland UK and specified Scottish islands.

Drain survey work, the repair or replacement of drainage components and emergency response and spills clean-up when necessary are also included in the contract.
CSG managing director Paul Quigley said winning the contract illustrated how the group’s investment in the infrastructure and expert staff to manage large contracts was paying dividends.

“It is also a confirmation of our commitment to ensure we do everything possible to help the environment, at the same time as complying with the ever increasing amount of legislation and regulation which the waste industry is subject to.”

CSG is one of the largest privately-owned waste management groups in Britain, operating across many sectors with a customer base including Government, local authorities, major supermarket groups and garage chains.

VOSA provides a range of licensing, testing and enforcement services which help improve both road safety and environmental standards by checking the roadworthiness standards of vehicles and the compliance of operators and drivers.
The Agency also aims to further improve its green credentials by implementing a wide ranging sustainable development action plan which includes improving energy efficiency, reducing waste and increasing recycling across its estate.
