CIVIC SEND OFF FOR WASTE COMPANY’S NEW HQ

Independent waste management company Cleansing Service Group (CSG) has celebrated its 75th anniversary with a civic opening of its new 13,000 sq.ft. headquarters building at Fareham, Hampshire.

The Mayor of Fareham (Councillor Mrs Ruth Godrich) joined CSG chairman Heather Hart, managing director Paul Quigley, company staff and guests from the local business community for an open evening at the new offices when she unveiled a plaque and congratulated CSG on its success as one of Hampshire’s oldest companies.

CSG, which has moved from its cramped and outdated Botley base where it was first established as a one man business 75 years ago, is now the UK’s second largest privately owned waste management specialist.

Over the past year, the company has reported increased turnover and record profits, acquired award-winning print industry waste management company J & G Environmental and announced a £12 million investment programme to replace its entire transport fleet, including a range of new vacuum tankers now coming on stream.

CSG also marked its anniversary by inviting local schoolchildren to take part in a ‘paint a tanker’ competition with the winning design featuring on one of the company’s new 9000 litre tankers which will be used for domestic sewage system maintenance.

The winner, 14-year-old Alice Tucker, attended the opening to see the newly-liveried tanker and receive a £300 prize together with tickets for this year’s Truckfest South West where the tanker will be on display on the DAF stand.
